    • The knowledge, which they were looking for, was mine - Part 1.

From the diary of General Gordon, entry from the 12th of October, 1965:

It has been very quiet. Even after all those years I am still not used to this silence. You would think that after all those months, always the same walk, always at the same time, my way to Doctor Gresel would have become routine. It’s that day again. My weekly meeting. They call it coming to terms with the past. But something seemed different for some weeks, it feels like Doctor Gresel wanted me to tell her something specific. Always the same questions, questions about my adventures around the world, about the wars, which have been fought. The records that have been made. Fallen comrades, fallen provinces. What exactly does she want to hear from me?
The crunching of the wooden floor, a familiar noise. Before the second world war started I have been in a lot of buildings in the same condition. I have seen a lot, crossed many borders. Another obstacle, the door right in front of me. The room in which I will have to answer questions for 40 minutes. As if interrogated. But this time things should be different…

Additionally we found a brief note about recent occurrences in one of our troops, that have been resolved:

      • We can now move freely again during peace period in allied territories.
      • The game option ‘starts when full’ will now be shown in the game information and also represented by a new game icon.
We hope you like the changes. Tell us your feedback in the forum.Have fun playing!

First time we asked for paratroopers and cargo planes... we got crates...

Maybe this time it up a step and we are getting zepelins lol haha

Maybe the time machine the Germans built at the end of ww2 is being added.
Well, that would be consistent with a nuclear-powered submarine that wasn't built until 1954, a nuclear aircraft carrier that wasn't completed until 1961, non-nuclear tactical ballistic missiles with the accuracy to strike at regimental/brigade-size units and cause 50 to 100% casualties, a nuclear ICBM that was not available until 1957 or 1959, or U-boats that are capable of shooting down entire squadrons of naval patrol bombers. . . . There are a LOT of historical anachronisms that should be removed from this WORLD WAR II-based game as it now exists. Unfortunately, I have seen no willingness yet to address these obvious problems.

The german tech tree will have die glocke for the time machine, of course, but I can't think of a time machine that can be used for the other tech trees.
Please see H.G. Wells' The Time Machine (1895). I think you can add it to the British tech tree, since we have no shortage of other science fiction-based units already.

Of course, the Brits shared their best technology with the Americans after 1941, so I can imagine an American Ranger unit traveling back in time to 1895 to abduct a certain Austrian-born young man who was destined to achieve a certain notoriety between 1933 and 1945, and then allowing him to be adopted by a nice Jewish family in middle-class Los Angeles of the the early 1940s, where he grows up to be an overly ambitious subdivision developer of the 1950s and '60s named Dolf Goldberg. "Today Los Angeles, tomorrow Orange County!"

    • I found General Gordon anyway..... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Willard_G._Wyman

Nothing really of note about him, and this "quote" is from four years before his death. Nothing about Doctor Gresel on the internet. Googling "doctor gresel 1965" gets you stuff about Dr. Who and this thread, with some other irrelecant pages.

    • I doubt they would have used his middle name, nor does his service record or ribbons denote anything truly special. If this was about paratroopers or marines, they could have used a quote from the British airborne landings on D-day or US Marines in Korea.

    • Okay, we need to find Mr Gordon here, surely he'll then spill the beans on what this post means. We here at the GSG9 have taken liberty to set up a mugshot of possible Gordons.

A random General who happens to be named Gordon and we here at the GSG9 wasted our time attempting to find this Gordon, wasting time and resources that could of gone into... I dunno, our jobs?
